Savor Lisbon’s women-led gastronomy at Campo de Ourique

Meet some of the women shaping the Lisbon food scene’s culinary traditions, sustainability efforts, and future innovations. You’ll speak with female entrepreneurs in Lisbon’s Campo de Ourique neighborhood, who run everything from market stalls to restaurant kitchens. • We’ll begin at Mercado de Campo de Ourique with a warm welcome. Inside the market, you’ll meet female fishmongers, explore the day’s freshest seafood, and learn about the seasonality of Portugal’s coastal catch —from the celebrated spring-to-autumn sardine season to that of lesser-known delicacies. • Next, we’ll visit two female-owned specialty shops dedicated to locally sourced ingredients like organic fresh produce and organic, in bulk spices, infusions, and all things sustainability — Do Campo a Ourique and Maria Granel. • Taste the flavors of Portugal through Chef Margarida Dias's hands, who will transform fresh market finds into exquisite dishes at Bicho Mau restaurant, while chatting about the evolving role of women in gastronomy over a glass of wine, women-produced, of course! • Before you go, I’ll share the women-led culinary businesses in Lisbon that you need to know. If you want to stay longer, there are hidden gems in the neighbourhood we can keep exploring! This experience isn’t just about savoring food, it’s also about connecting with the women who bring it to life, from the sea to the kitchen.

Aprende a preparar pasteles de nata en una pastelería de Lisboa

Since 2018, this is Portugal's only cooking class in a real bakery, taught by a professional pastry chef! This masterclass can be hosted by award-winning chef João Batalha, co-founder of Pastel de Nata concept store Nat'elier, or other experienced in-house pastry professionals such as chefs Silvia Sousa or Adriano Cardoso. After gearing up you'll go inside our pro kitchen where you'll learn how to bake the irresistible Portuguese Custard Tarts (aka Egg Tarts) everybody loves! The workshop starts with an intro to the history of Pastel de Nata. This is HANDS-ON experience! Unlike other Pastéis de Nata classes in Lisbon, we will show you how to make puff pastry from scratch. Afterwards, we will make the custard and bake it all inside a professional oven. During this class we all work together as a team (max. 14 people) Everyone makes at least 3 tarts by hand - learn how to laminate the dough, shape it with a specific Pastel de Nata technique, fill in the custard, etc. ☕We'll end tasting the warm tarts with a drink of choice, crafted by our baristas. Includes Certificate of Achievement! ‍ ADULTS & KIDS +8.y.o. welcome! NO previous cooking experience required! We organize PRIVATE classes - send DM! If you have younger kids, please book a private experience. Pour cours de français veuillez envoyer un message avant de réserver. Para clases en español pf envíe un mensaje.
