Lovely place if you want to take a break from a vibrant city life. It is not far away to cycle and in the forest of Amsterdam you can enjoy biking or walking. You can even hire a canoe every day. http://www.amsterdamsebos.nl/english/do/

The Spaarnwoude recreational area is located between Amsterdam, Haarlem and Velsen. At Spaarnwoude, you can walk, bike or skate while enjoying the typical Dutch landscape. There’s plenty of space to play and relax, as well as tons of activities like paintball, a climbing wall, putting green, canoeing, swimming and move. The recreational area is host to several large events every summer.

Arts & Culture
Rijksmuseum
1 MuseumstraatMuseumplein
MuseumpleinMuseum of modern art. The Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is a must-see. It is the most important museum of modern and contemporary art and design in the Netherlands. Situated on Museumplein, where it first opened in 1895, the Stedelijk rubs shoulders with the world-famous Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum
The historic Stedelijk building underwent extensive renovation, and has been expanded with the addition of a futuristic new wing. Affectionately known as “the bathtub” because of its smooth white exterior, the addition has been a huge hit with visitors since the museum’s reopening in 2012.
The Stedelijk Museum is a landmark that, like Amsterdam itself, offers a fantastic mix of old and new, traditional and hip. Our collection contains extraordinary art by world-renowned artists, including a great numberof works by major twentieth-century Dutch artists.
A visit to the Stedelijk takes you on a historical journey through the last 150 years of art.
